The Railview Hotel is a gloomy hotel located on the outskirts of the city of Cokeworth in England. It was owned by a woman. On the 29th July, 1991, the Dursleys and Harry Potter stayed at the hotel in an attempt to outrun the multitude of letters that persisted to arrive for Harry, summoning him to Hogwarts. The attempt was in vain, as about one hundred letters were delivered to the hotel the following morning. Vernon Dursley disposed of them, then left the hotel for the seclusion of a hut on a rock out to sea.
