The Purple Rabbit (a.k.a. the flaming purple rabbit) was a beast Transfigured from a lit candle during the 1991–1992 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but escaped out onto the castle grounds. Professor McGonagall entrusted Harry Potter with the capture of this oddity, lest it accidentally start fires. He was rewarded 25 House points for retrieving it.
