- "Potions and Symbols. Please make sure you use the correct symbol."
- —Libatius Borage, Advanced Potion-Making.[src]
The potion elements could be organised in the shape of a table. These symbols had origins in various mystical and esoteric fields and were used in writing chemical recipes, what made those look like abstruse magic incantations.[1]
Mixing up this symbols in a chemical recipe would result in failure, or even possibly, disaster.[1]

- This table strongly resembles the real-world periodic table of the chemical elements. When analyzed carefully, one can notice that the structure of every cell in the table includes what in the periodic table would be the chemical symbol, atomic number and the atomic weight of every element.
