Porpentina "Tina" Scamander (née Goldstein[4]) (fl. 1920 - 1991) was an American witch.[5] She was the wife of famed magizoologist and author Newt Scamander.[6]

Biography

Porpentina was born somewhere in the United States of America.[6] She had at least one sibling, a younger sister, Queenie.[7] Her friends and family called her by the nickname "Tina."[1] She apparently had a practical, level-headed personality, being described as "grounded."[8]

Around 1920, Porpentina met British magizoologist Newt Scamander in New York City, where he had come as part of his international expedition to discover new magical creatures.[5] She eventually married him and moved to the United Kingdom.[6] The couple had at least one child, who in turn gave them a grandson, Rolf.[9]

As of the late 20th century,[10] she lived with her husband in Dorset with their pet Kneazles: Hoppy, Milly, and Mauler.[6]
