A poisonous duck is a creature bred at the Ministry of Magic.
When Harry Potter used a Decoy Detonator to infiltrate Dolores Umbridge's office in 1997, a group of witches and wizards believed the device escaped from the Committee on Experimental Charms's offices, and mentioned a previous episode regarding a poisonous duck.[1]
