Poderick Cruickshank (born c. 1492) was a wizard whose portrait hung at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1]
His portrait was inscribed "Anno MDXXVII", indicating that it was painted in 1527, and "Ætatis Suæ XXXV", indicating he was 35 at the time the portrait was made, as ættatis suæ is Latin for "of his age".[1][2]
Behind the scenes
- Poderick Cruickshanks's portrait seems to have been based on a 1505 portrait of Henry VII of England by an unknown artist.
