This unidentified individual was a wizard who was Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sometime before Armando Dippet. His portrait hung in the Headmaster's office in order to give advice to the current Head.[2]

An inscription on his portrait read "Atatis XXXV,"[3] indicating that he was aged thirty-five when he died,[1] as atatis is a Latin form of "aetatis", meaning "at the age of."[4]
