On 31 July, 1992, Petunia Dursley made a pudding for her husband Vernon Dursley's business deal with Mr. Mason and his wife. It was destroyed by the House-elf Dobby, who levitated the dessert and then dropped it to the floor, in an attempt to prevent Harry Potter from returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and force him to stay at Privet Drive. As Harry was underage and the only known wizard in the area, he received a warning from the Improper Use of Magic Office.
Behind the scenes
- In the film version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Dobby levitates a cake rather than a pudding, and drops it directly on Mrs. Mason's head.
