Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in western South America. Its capital city is Lima.

The town of Tarapoto may have significant magical populations, as there is a famous Quidditch team from there.

The Peruvian National Quidditch team is considered to be the best team from South America.
The Tarapoto Tree-Skimmers are an international famous Quidditch team.

The Peruvian Vipertooth is a dragon native to eastern and north-eastern Peru. Its scales are smooth and copper-coloured. It also has black ridge-markings and short horns on its head. Like the Norwegian Ridgeback, its fangs are venomous. It is the smallest and fastest known breed of dragon.
The Peruvian Salamander, which is purple instead of being red.

The Dragon Pox is a potentially fatal disease related to the Peruvian Vipertooth.
The Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder was invented in this country.
