A penny farthing is a type of old-fashioned bicycle with a large front wheel and a much smaller rear wheel.^[1] It was mentioned in a question on the first W.O.M.B.A.T., which asked to which Ministry of Magic department, if any, one would report a friend who owned — but never rode — a Muggle penny farthing enchanted by her grandmother to "skim an inch above the ground" and "[achieve] speeds of over 100mph."
