Partis Temporus
Partis Temporus
Incantation

Part-tus Tem-po-rus

Effect

Temporarily parts the target

Partis Temporus is a spell which creates a temporary gap in the target, parting it. When a hoard of Inferi attacked Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter on the island in the Horcrux cave, Dumbledore summoned a ring of fire to drive them off, then used Partis Temporus to create a channel in the encircling flames wide enough to allow himself and Harry Potter to escape in the boat.

Etymology

Partis is a plural form of the French verb partir, which means "to separate," "to go away," "to leave," or "to depart." Temporis is Latin for "time."
