A parrot, also known as psittacine, are birds that can be found in tropical and subtropical regions.
At some time in or before 1991, Dudley Dursley possessed a parrot, which he swapped for a real live air rifle. The birdcage in which the parrot was kept was moved to The Smallest Bedroom.[1]
Just before Professor McGonagall announced the Yule Ball, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were having a sword fight with a couple of trick wands in Transfiguration class and Ron's turned into a tin parrot.
Behind the scenes
- In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 the bird that Draco Malfoy hides and Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley later finds in the Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirement is a parrot instead of a songbird like in the book and film.
