The opposition is the political party (or the parties) opposed to the party currently in office in countries with Westminster-based parliamentary systems such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.[1]
When the predecessor of the British Prime Minister in 1996 was visited by Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge, he thought he was a hoax perpetrated by the opposition, and thus tried to throw him out a window.[2]
