[edit] History

[edit] 1991

In 1991, Harry Potter was taken to Ollivander's by Rubeus Hagrid in order to get Harry a wand in preparation for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry tried dozens, if not hundreds of wands before he was chosen by a wand of Holly and Phoenix Feather. Curious...curious... the wand-maker had said when Harry was chosen by the wand, and when questioned about the reason he was saying curious, Mr. Ollivander said that he remembered every wand he had ever sold, and he found it curious that Harry should be destined for a wand that was brother to the one that had killed Harry's parents, and had almost killed him.

[edit] 1996 and 1997

When Harry Potter visited Diagon Alley in his sixth year, he found Ollivander's boarded up [[, and Ollivander gone. Ollivander was kidnapped by Lord Voldemort. He was to explain why his wand and Harry Potter's wand couldn't battle. Under the Cruciatus Curse, he told Voldemort that it was because of the twin cores and all Voldemort needed to do was use another wand. Ollivander was tortured and held in the cellar of Malfoy Manor until Dobby rescued him and many other prisoners. After recovering at Shell Cottage, He went to Muriel's to be protected under the Fidelius Charm. He there made a wand and sent it to Luna. His shop likely reopened after The Battle of Hogwarts.

[edit] Description

Peeling gold letters over the door of the shop read: Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.. The shop's display consists of a solitary wand laying on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window. The shop is tiny, empty except for a single, spindly chair in the corner. Thousands of narrow boxes containing wands are piled right up to the ceiling of the tiny shop, and the whole place has a thin layer of dust about it.
