Nut brittle is a confection, usually very hard and brittle, which consists of flat broken pieces of hard sugar candy (usually brittle toffee) embedded with nuts. Molly Weasley gave Harry Potter a box of nut brittle for Christmas in 1993.[1]

Linguistic note

In British English, "candy" refers almost exclusively to hard sugar confectionery.
