The team's mascot is usually trolls, until in 2014 when they brought a selma to the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, which resulted in a disaster when it clashed with a dukuwaqa.

2014 Quidditch World Cup

After the disastrous Selma incident, on 13 April 2014, Norway played against Ivory Coast, winning 340 to 100. Ivory Coast seemed not up to their usual level, and were easily beaten in two hours by Norway. Norwegian Chaser Lars Lundekvam was twice the target of jinxes from wizards still angry about the disaster at the opening ceremony in the crowds, and the match had to be halted twice as security wizards tried to find out the source of the jinxes. Ivorian Chaser Elodie Dembélé scored 7 of Ivory Coast's 10 goals. In the end, Norwegian Seeker Sigrid Kristoffersen beat Sylvian Boigny to the Snitch in the 128th minute.

On June 6th, they played Bulgaria in the first quarterfinal, losing 20 to 170 in what was considered one of the tournament's biggest upsets, due to Norway's status as joint favourites and many saying Bulgaria was lucky to qualify. Although Bulgarian Chaser Nikola Vassileva scored twice early in the game, Lundekvam quickly equalised. When Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum dived for the Snitch, Kristoffersen thought he was avoiding a bludger, so did not even look at him until Krum revealed that he had won the game in the 42nd minute, which she responded to by flying to the ground and banging her head on it until Karl Wang, the Keeper, dragged her to her feet. Their coach, Oddvar Spillum, had no comment for the press beyond sobs. Many Norwegain fans blamed the Selma for their bad luck, causing the Selma to go into hiding.
