Nobby was a Wizard best known for being the uncle of the author Beatrix Bloxam. According to a footnote in The Tales of Beedle the Bard quoting her diary, she was said to be 'in bed for a week' due to trauma somewhat caused by her hearing of the 'dreadfully unsavoury affair' concerning her uncle Nobby, the local hag and a sack of Bouncing Bulbs. This may have also contributed to her problems with sleepwalking.
Etymology
The word nobby means stylish, however the name could have also been derived from the word nob, which:
- Is a slang word for the head, or
- Refers to a person of wealth and high social status.
