|"Is this all real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
The subject of this article is a real-life person, company, product, or creative work that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Harry Potter Wiki is written from the perspective that all information presented in canon is true (e.g., Hogwarts really exists), and, as such, details contained in this article may differ from real world facts.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are a Muggle rock group, formed in Melbourne, Australia. In 1997, one of the band's songs, "O Children," came on the radio while Hermione Granger and Harry Potter were camping out on the hunt for Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes, and the two friends danced to it.
Behind the scenesEdit
- The album on which "O Children" is featured, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus, was released in 2004. This makes the song's appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 an anachronism, as the dancing scene would have taken place in 1997, based on the canonical timeline. However, as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have been together since 1983, it is possible that the track could have appeared on one of the group's earlier releases in the Harry Potter universe.
