New York is the most populous city in the United States of America, and one of the most important world centers.
By the late 1910s or early 1920s, Newton Scamander travelled to New York, presumably while conducting his research on magical creatures that led to his authorship of wizarding bestseller Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in 1927.[1] He had originally intended to only stay for a few hours, but ended up staying in the city much longer.[2]
