Composed by Patrick Doyle, this waltz is played by Professor Minerva McGonagall from the album Wizard Waltz as she prepares her Transfiguration students for dancing during the upcoming Yule Ball. She dances the waltz along with Ronald Weasley and the music continues playing as he and Harry secretly observe Neville Longbottom dancing the steps of the waltz alone and humming the tune, likely the reasoning behind the tune's name on the soundtrack. The waltz carries on as background music as romance takes to the air at Hogwarts, with Ron and Harry searching for girls to dance with at the Yule Ball, Rubeus Hagrid chatting up Madam Maxime, and Hermione disgustedly observing Viktor Krum and his twittering fan club of girls.
Behind the scenes
- A portion of the waltz can also be heard in one of the film's deleted scenes available on the DVD/Blu-ray extras.
