The National Lottery is a state-franchised national lottery in the United Kingdom. Twenty-eight pence of every pound collected from ticket sales is distributed to "good causes" through grants.[1]

An adapted production of Romeo and Juliet that was staged at the Regency Playhouse in 1997 received part of its funding from the National Lottery.[2]
