Mundungus "Dung" Fletcher is a wizard and member of the Order of the Phoenix. He also has a background as a petty crook.

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Dung is mentioned by [[Arthur Weasley]. He said that Dung tried to curse him when his back was turned.

With the return of Lord Voldemort at the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore calls upon Sirius Black to alert the 'old crowd' including Mundungus Fletcher. However Mundungus Fletcher finds it impossible to place the demands of the Order completely ahead of his own interests.

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Mundungus places Harry Potter in peril when he neglects his guard duty, exposing Harry and his cousin Dudley to an attack by Dementors in the middle of Little Whinging. Later, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry discovers that Fletcher has been pilfering valuable items from Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place which has been left to Harry following Sirius' death.

Fletcher is a comical character; not well liked by many of the other members of the Order of the Phoenix, but considered by Dumbledore to be useful for picking up information that might not otherwise reach the ears of the other wizards from more "respectable" backgrounds.
