The Mumblemumps is a wizarding disease. It possibly causes the sick person to mumble and their face and neck to swell. Katie Bell got the mumblemumps in 1992, as such, she was frequently seen in the Hospital wing. ^[1] One possible way to treat it is to rest, as Katie was put to bed and was very bored of having nothing to do.

Etymology

"To mumble" is "to fail to articulate". ^[2] The mumps is a contagious disease, mostly occuring in childhood, which causes swelling of glands in the face and neck.^[3]
