Behind the scenes
- As Isobel MacDougal never appears in the Harry Potter novels, it is possible that she is the same character as Morag, having been renamed at some point without J.K. Rowling noting the change on her hand-written list of the forty original students in Harry's year.
Etymology
Morag is from Gaelic mór, "tall." Dougall is from the Gaelic Dubhgall, or "dark stranger," and "Mc" is "son of."

- Harry Potter and Me
Notes and references
- ↑ Her House is seen in JK Rowling's notebook in Harry Potter and Me. Since it didn't make it into the books, however, it may not be canonical.
- ↑ Despite this character not actually being identified in the film, they were sorted in 1991 and therefore were present in the films adaption of the sorting amongst the crowd of first years, as they had to be sorted and even though they weren't mentioned they'd still be one of the students in that crowd.
