The nine biological siblings of Modesty Barebone lived with her and their mother and father in a tenement in the The Bronx in the 1910s and/or 1920s. However, Modesty was adopted by Mary Lou Barebone, a No-Maj anti-witchcraft activist, possibly because the family had more children than they could care for or were magical. Afterward, Modesty missed her brothers and sisters, and would talk about them to her adoptive brother Credence.
Modesty's fate after the death of her adoptive mother is unknown, but it is possible that she returned to her biological family.
