In the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic, there is a Security Desk that is usually manned by one guard. At this desk sits the Wand weigher, a device that examines the characteristics of a visitor's wand. All visitors must present themselves and their wands at this desk upon entry to the Ministry. It caught fire during the Duel in the Ministry Atrium, and it is unknown if it was rebuilt.
