Behind the scenesEdit

  • The only known alternative form of government mentioned in canon is the Council of Magic, the Argentinian one being a case in point.[1] It is unknown precisely what distinguishes a Council of Magic from a Ministry of Magic.
  • It is possible that, in countries where the Muggle government is not divided up into ministries, the wizarding governing body takes a different name styled after the appropriate term in that country. This cannot be confirmed, however, as wizarding government in countries without ministries has yet to be referred to.
