" [...] and Araminta Meliflua... cousin of my mother's... tried to force through a Ministry Bill to make Muggle-hunting legal [...]'"
Sirius Black to Harry Potter on Araminta[src]

Araminta Meliflua once proposed (or, as the son of her cousin once worded, "tried to force through") a Ministry Bill in order to make Muggle-hunting legal. This bill was turned down by the Ministry of Magic,[1] likely because it would be in breach of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy and it would be inhumane.
