A microwave is a Muggle device used for heating food. Arthur Weasley acquired one of these sometime prior to the summer of 1992. When Harry Potter was visiting that summer, Arthur asked for his help in locating some of his Muggle artefacts, including this microwave, and returning them to their proper locations.[1]

The Dursley family also owned a microwave. When the Advance Guard came to pick up Harry in 1995, Kingsley Shacklebolt and Sturgis Podmore passed the time waiting for Harry to pack by examining this microwave.[2]
