|"Is this all real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
The subject of this article is a real-life person, company, product, or creative work that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Harry Potter Wiki is written from the perspective that all information presented in canon is true (e.g., Hogwarts really exists), and, as such, details contained in this article may differ from real world facts.
Metro was a British newspaper. In August of 1995, it published an article about twin boys named Jack and Tom Monk, who lived despite being born simultaneously, as a bundle. Their father, Dave Monk, was a reporter for Metro.
Behind the scenes
- The newspaper's appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is anachronistic as the real-life newspaper was not founded until 1999. Even so, the date featured in the masthead is wrong for the scene in which the newspaper prop appears: while the prop bears "Friday, December 1, 2006", the scene is set in the London Underground on the day of Harry Potter's disciplinary hearing at the Ministry of Magic, Saturday, 12 August, 1995.
