Mesopotamia (or Meſopotamia) is a toponym for the area of the Tigris–Euphrates river system, largely corresponding to modern-day Iraq, northeastern Syria, southeastern Turkey and southwestern Iran. Mesopotamia is widely considered to be the cradle of civilization. Abraham was in Mesopotamia when God asked him to sacrifice his son, Isaac, in a test of faith.[1]
Behind the scenes
- In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the shrieking book, in which Abraham is mentioned, appears to be a copy of The Works of the Most Reverend Dr. John Tillotson.
