The Merchieftainess was the ruler of the Black Lake Merpeople colony. She was the merperson with the highest authority in the Black Lake. She was the one who told Albus Dumbledore about what happened in the lake during the second task of the Triwizard Tournament, from which the judges were able to make their decision regarding scores.
