• 1998: In the morning, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley,Hermione Granger and Griphook break into the Lestrange Vault at Gringotts Wizarding Bank: they retrieve Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, lose Godric Gryffindor's Sword after Griphook's defection, and narrowly escape on the bank's Security Dragon. In the evening, the trio manages to sneak into Hogwarts Castle in search of one of Lord Voldemort's last Horcruxes, but Harry is detected by Death Eater Alecto Carrow. Severus Snape is ousted from the post of Headmaster by Minerva McGonagall. As Lord Voldemort and his forces siege the Castle, the Hogwartians prepare for the ensuing confrontation that would begin at midnight of the next day.
