Mathilda Grimblehawk was an employee of the Ministry of Magic in the Beast Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. She handled several cases during her years at the Ministry.
Biography
She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she took potions class.[2]
Along with her partner (the new intern) she helped investigate several cases involving magical beasts. Their first case together involved an attack on Gordon Horton, Quidditch keeper for the Chudley Cannons.[3] She believed the Cannons to be the best Quidditch team in the league, despite their performance last season.[4]
Other cases on which she worked included the disruption at the Leaky Cauldron,[5] the attack on Don Harrison's construction crew,[6] the story from the Siren's Rest's landlord of a Welsh lake monster,[7] the disappearance of Bilius Finbok,[8] the investigation in the sewers of London,[9] and the fire at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[10]
According to Gethsemane Prickle, she once, during the course of her duties, decided she would taste a Draught of Living Death before administering it to a magical creature. Mathilda begrudgingly admitted to it, saying that it had "only happened once".[11]
