Marshmallows are a confection that consists of sugar, water, and gelatin, softened by warm water, and typically given a squat cylindrical shape. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley roasted these along with crumpets, during the Christmas holidays in the 1991–1992 school year.

On 2 September, 1995, when Harry and Ron were studying dream interpretation in Divination, Ron stated that he dreamed about playing Quidditch the other night and asked what Harry thought it meant. Harry, uninterested in the exercise, suggested that maybe it meant that he was going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something as he turned through the pages of The Dream Oracle.^[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

• As Harry was about to go face the Hungarian Horntail in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament, his legs felt to him like marshmallow.^[2]
