"Er... he and my dad don't get on very well, you see, so I don't really know much about..."
Marcus on Damocles[src]

Mr Belby (fl.1996) was the father of Marcus Belby. He did not get along with Marcus's uncle, Damocles, as he did not believe potions a worthwhile subject,[2] and, as such, the two men had little contact.

  2. Marcus Belby: Him and Dad don't get on. Probably because me Dad says potions are rubbish. Says the only potion worth having is a stiff one at the end of the day. (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film))
