Malecrit was a French wizard in the early 1400s. He wrote the play, Hélas, Je me suis Transfiguré Les Pieds, which included a reference to the game of Quidditch, showing that the game had spread to France by the early 1400s.
Behind the scenes
Malecrit looks like "Mal écrit", which means "poorly written".
