Majorca is the largest island of Spain and is a popular tourist destination for Europeans.^[1] In 1991, the Dursley family had to take Harry Potter with them to the zoo, as Petunia Dursley's friend Yvonne was on holiday in Majorca and could not watch him.^[2] The following year, Vernon Dursley said he hoped to buy a holiday property with the money he earned from signing a contract to sell his company's drills to a prominent builder, Mr. Mason.^[3]
