A magical cloud is a small mass of blue, sparkly gas that can be used to obscure a creature. It is impossible to determine what creature is contained within a magical cloud without getting close enough for this creature to attack. Though magical clouds cannot be cleared directly, casting the Informous Spell on a creature will ensure that it can no longer by obscured by magical clouds on its own. However, groups of creatures containing a mix of those having been previously cast upon with Informous and those that have not can still be completely obscured.
Behind the scenes
- The concept of magical clouds no longer appearing once Informous is cast was added to the Game Boy Advance version of the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In the earlier games that included magical clouds, they were omnipresent regardless of prior use of Informous.
