Behind the scenes
Edit
- In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Barty Crouch Jr. gives Neville Longbottom a book called Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean in the hopes that Harry Potter would ask Neville for help on how to breathe underwater (which one could achieve by consuming Gillyweed, a plant mentioned in this book), a requirement to pass the Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament. Harry, however, did not ask for help, as he was too proud, and instead Crouch had to trick Dobby into giving Potter the necessary plant. In the film adaptation, this sub-plot is simplified, having a desperate Harry asking Neville for some help, and he recommends Harry to use Gillyweed based on this book's information.
