A Magical Gateway is a gateway through which each first-year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has to pass in order to be Sorted into one of the four Houses.[1]
Behind the scenes
- This Sorting method was one of the first ways of Sorting students J. K. Rowling considered. This idea did not, however, make its way into canon, as the Sorting Hat was choosed in its place.
