The Magic Alphabet[1] was a poster of the alphabet used to inform wizarding children of the alphabet.[1]
Lily Evans and James Potter bought their son Harry one, and hung it in Harry's bedroom in their cottage in Godric's Hollow.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- The poster is similar to Muggle teaching tools that pair letters of the alphabet with words that begin with the respective letters along with a picture of what the word describes, but unlike Muggle posters, many of the words represent magical things, such as unicorns or dragons.
- There are at least two versions of this poster, one with A is for Alchemy and one with A is for Abracadabra.[2]
Appearances[]
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film) (First appearance)[3]
- Harry Potter Limited Edition (First identified as Magic Alphabet)
