Changes: Luna Lovegood's first wand

The first wand of Luna Lovegood is of unknown length and core material, with only the wood known as oak. Luna presumably obtained it in 1992, when she was eleven years old, likely from Ollivander's Wand Shop, and used it until halfway through her sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.She often placed it behind her left ear for safekeeping.

The wand was confiscated when Luna was abducted by Death Eaters in 1997 in order to force her father to cooperate with the Voldemort-controlled Ministry of Magic. Luna spent months in the dungeons of Malfoy Manor with fellow prisoner Ollivander, the famed wand-maker, to whom she was a great comfort. After they were rescued by Dobby during the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, Ollivander constructed a new wand for Luna, which she practiced with while staying at Shell Cottage before the Battle of Hogwarts. It is unknown if she was ever reunited with her first wand.

Behind the scenes

In the film adaptations, Luna's wand has acorn patterns etched across the length of the wood. This theme resembles Hermione Granger's wand, which also has plant-like designs.
Judging from the acorn patterns on the wand, it is possible that the wand is made from oak.
This wand, like Hermione Granger's wand, is one of the few wands in the film adaptations that does not have an obvious handle.
Evanna Lynch, who portrays Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, admitted when she visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (at Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort, Florida) that she liked Luna's first wand more than her second wand, and purchased the Dumbledore's Army wand collection, rather then buying the second one, which was sold seperately for less.
In the films, Luna has used her wand on multiple occasions: In the Order of the Phoenix (film), she used her wand to conjure her hare Patronus, and also used it to send a Death Eater flying off her with Levicorpus in the Department of Mysteries. In the Half-Blood Prince (film), she used her wand to free Harry with Finite after he was frozen by Draco Malfoy'sBody-Binding Curse, and also used it to dismiss the Dark Mark after Dumbledore's death.
The Noble Collection, despite many requests, has not made Luna Lovegood's first wand seperately, and only sells it with the Dumbledore's Army wand collection, and sells her second wand with the Ollivanders Wand Collection.
