The Lumos Challenge was an obstacle course housed in a room located on the third floor of Hogwarts Castle, near a Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. As the name suggests, the course was meant for practising the Wand-Lighting Charm, Lumos. The course contained a large number of objects that could be moved around, knocked over, using the various previously learned spells, it also contained Gargoyles that could be interacted with using Lumos. The room also contained 7 Challenge Stars.
During the 1991-1992 school year, Quirinus Quirrell tasked Harry Potter, and presumably other students, to collect all 7 of the Challenge Stars within the Lumos Challenge, a task Harry completed successfully.
