The Lower Chambers Portrait Corridor is a corridor at Hogwarts Castle. It's walls are covered in portraits and tapestries. This corredor is poorly lit at night, as the portraits can't sleep with the lights on. There is also a framed mirror on one of the walls. [1]
History
1993
In 1993, Harry Potter saw Peter Pettigrew's name on the Marauder's Map. He rushed down from the Gryffindor Tower in hope to see him. Pettigrew, then-transformed in Scabbers, passed right through Harry on this corridor, to the latter's astonishment. Severus Snape then caught Harry on the dark corridor, and questioned Harry on the Marauder's Map or, as he saw it, a blank piece of parchment. Harry was then "saved" by Remus Lupin. [1]
Behind the scenes
- This corridor is only named on the official Marauder's Map replica made by the Noble Collection. In the Marauder's Map on the actual film, there are no words identifying the corridor.
