The Locking Spell (Colloportus) is a charm that locks doors so that it cannot be opened manually. The Locking Spell is probally most useful against Muggles because there is a known Counter-Charm Alohomora.The spell is featured in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1. [1]
Etymology
Colloportus is comprised of the prefix "collo-" deriving from Latin colligo meaning to bind together or possibly Greek κολλάω, κολλώ (collo) which means "to glue, stick" and Latin portus meaning door.
