L. Moon was a student who began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991. (The same year as Harry). He or she was sorted before Harry.
Behind the scenes
- Only Moon's surname was revealed during the Sorting ceremony in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, but on the student list shown on Harry Potter and Me, the first three letters of his or her first name can be made out as "Lil" or "Lib".
- It is possible that Moon is an earlier version or a possible last name for Leanne.
- A name that begins with 'Lil-' and that ties in nicely with 'Moon' is the Akkadian name Lilith, which means "of the night".
