- "There's more than Butterbeer down in the cellar, y'know, Mr Potter."
- — Tom[src]
The cellar of the Leaky Cauldron was located below the ground floor of the Leaky Cauldron. It was used to store barrels of different beverages such as Butterbeer,[3] as well for holding reserve Floo Powder.[4] The cellar was accessible via a flight of stairs located on the back of the pub. The cellar was quite large and did not seem to be cleaned very often.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- The cellar, as seen in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, includes spotlights and electric lights. This is possibly because the pub is near the Muggle world, as it serves as an entrance from Muggle world to wizarding world.
- In the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (console versions), the cellar contains certain beasts, such as imps and Fire Crabs.
- In the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (GBA version), Tom has a bottle of Rat Tonic here, which Harry Potter retrieves in order to help Scabbers.[2] However in the book, Ron Weasley buys Rat Tonic for Scabbers at the Magical Menagerie.[5]
