Arthur Weasley: "There's a loophole in the law, you'll find....As long as he wasn't intending to fly the car, the fact that the car could fly wouldn't —"
Molly Weasley: "Arthur Weasley, you made sure that was a loophole when you wrote that law! Just so you could carry on tinkering with all that Muggle rubbish in your shed!"
— Arthur and Molly Weasley discuss the legality of the former's flying Ford Anglia.[src]

There exists a law regarding the ownership of charmed Muggle objects, containing a loophole that allows such objects to be owned so long as they are not intended to be used. This law was drafted by Arthur Weasley of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, who intentionally wrote in this loophole so that he could legally continue to charm Muggle artefacts in his spare time.[1]
