Mr. Brown was a pure-blood wizard, husband of Mrs. Brown and father of Lavender. In 1993, he and his wife sent a letter to Lavender, informing her that her pet rabbit Binky had been killed by a fox.
Prior to that school year, either Mr. Brown or his wife signed a Hogsmeade permission form for Lavender[2].
In the "Deathly Hallows" novel, on May 2, 1998, his daughter was attacked by Fenrir Greyback, but was rescued by Hermione Granger. Lavender's fate after that incident - whether she survived the attack or not - is unknown. However, according to the "Deathly Hallows-Part II" movie, on May 2, 1998, his daughter appeared to have died during the Battle of Hogwarts when she was attacked by Fenrir Greyback.
